In Years 7, 8 and 9 they follow a mixed course of Performing, Composing, Listening and Appreciation through many different musical styles and genres eg jazz, classical and ethnic music.

In Years 10 and 11, Music is a popular option subject at GCSE level. Music is also an A-level option subject where candidates are encouraged to develop skills further in Performing, Composing and History of Music. The Music Department also teachers in the A-level Performing Arts course.

Students may work with Music Technology equipment which includes 3 PC’s with Cubase VST score software and multi-track recorders.

There is a wealth of extra-curricular activities at lunch-times and after school. We actively encourage students to participate.

Individual instrumental tuition is arranged with the Solihull Instrumental Service in school hours and after school between 3.30 and 8.00pm.
