Jewellery
Pupils with pierced ears may wear a small pair of plain gold coloured studs, one in each ear lobe. These must be removed for all PE lessons for Health and Safety reasons. No other jewellery should be worn. It is also suggested that ears are pierced at the beginning of the six week summer holiday in order to avoid problems in PE and around the school at the beginning of the term. This applies from Year 7 to 11. Students who have their ears pierced during the academic year will be expected to remove their earrings for PE lessons. First aid assistance to remove and replace earrings will be available if necessary.
All clothing and property should be clearly marked with the owner's whole name since clothing can easily be lost, especially when changing for PE, particularly trainers and soccer boots.
For Health and Safety reasons, we would recommend that all students participating in Hockey and Rugby lessons in school should wear a mouthguard for protection. These can be purchased either from any Sports Shop or from your Dentist. The latter are more expensive but are specifically made to fit your child’s mouth.
