Vision Statement
Heart of England School will endeavour to provide educational opportunities characterised by quality, diversity and an increasing international dimension, reflecting our Specialist School status in Business & Enterprise and RATL (Raising Achievement Transforming Learning), whilst evolving to meet the changing educational and recreational needs of the community it serves.
Within this context:
- The main educational focus will continue to be 11-18 year old students, but with an increasing emphasis on the participation of other age groups, as we embrace the philosophy and challenges of providing extended services for our community.
- Learning and teaching styles will continue to evolve in response to current research including emotional aspects of learning, the pace of technological advancement and the development of personalised learning to meet the needs of individual students.
- The essential skills of literacy, numeracy and communication that facilitate the acquisition of skills and knowledge will be extended and enhanced to support the academic, social and emotional development of students of all ages and abilities.
- Familiar routines, staffing structures and learning environments will be adapted in a coherent and sensitive manner that sustains confidence and security during a phase of rapid technological, social and educational development.
- Consultation with individuals, families, governors, Community Groups, recreational clubs, the Local Authority, Industrial Confederations, Regional Development Agencies, Learning and Skills Councils, and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust will be central to the process of developing facilities, activities and partnerships to support the creation of an inclusive educational and recreational community.
- Any member of the school community whether student, teacher, support staff, visitor, community user, will feel valued as an individual through their participation and contribution, which in turn should enhance their lives professionally, socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and morally.
